I have a soft spot in my heart for the Checker hardcovers of Supreme. So, when I saw a damaged Supreme The Return hardcover for sale for cheap, I picked it up and decided to fix it... but more than just the spine.
So, I added the lost page for Supreme: The Return #1...
I fixed the lettering in Supreme: The Return #2 (the relettered pages are here if you want them)...
added Supreme #63...
and added the fan edit of Supreme #64...
giving the collection a better ending...
I still prefer my custom binds from the issues, but this was still a fun project. What do you think?
Any chance you could share a nice scan of the relettered page?
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance, and if you can't, thanx for the site.

DeleteI LOVE YOUR SITE!!!! I loved the fan finish to Moore's run and the Youngblood finish was "AWESOME" please keep up the amazing work on the site.... was dying to know if you and the team behind the fan finish were to "take over" after Larsen any thoughts on how to course correct the book?
ReplyDeleteI liked the idea that Blue Rose saw the whole thing revised and open for creators to make something completely new. Without Moore, I'm not sure anyone could really keep Supreme going the way it was and not have it feel like it wasn't watered down. That's why I made an ending and not a continuation. :)
DeleteFair point :) I wont lie, I just miss the magic of it all
DeleteYou and me, both. Rick Veitch said that Moore had a third season planned, travelling into the Supremium meteor and visiting other versions of Superman, such as MiracleMan and Captain Britain. I think that could have been wonderful, but I have no idea how he would have done it. But the fun part is I can imagine how he might have, and that gives me a smile. With Supreme, the point was to open up the imagination for the reader, and I think leaving us all wanting more was a great way to do that!
DeleteThank YOU! for keeping the light burning bright for all things Supreme!
DeleteHey! Love your site! I see you have the missing page from Supreme: The Return now with the dialogue. Have you posted that somewhere?
ReplyDeleteYour pal in Milwaukee,
Jim
Hey Jim! It's not real Moore dialogue, just some that I made up to fit the page. You can see it here: http://forgottenawesome.blogspot.com/2018/05/after-awesome-part-13-end-of-supreme.html
